2024 March Two-Wheeler Sales Report: Check How Hero, Honda, TVS & Others Fared

March 2024 was mostly positive for the Indian two-wheeler industry, as most of the players recorded positive growth in year-on-year (YoY) sales. 

  • Bajaj Auto and Suzuki are the only brands which recorded positive sales growth in both MoM and YoY performance. 
  • Bajaj Auto recorded the best MoM sales figures, while Honda recorded the worst.
  • Honda posted the best YoY sales performance, Hero MotoCorp was the only brand which recorded a degrowth in YoY sales.

The sales figures for the last month of FY 2023-24, March 2024, are out now, with Bajaj Auto and Suzuki being the top gainers in the Indian two-wheeler industry. Here are the sales records of the top six two-wheeler companies in India:

Hero MotoCorp Best Sellers

India’s largest two-wheeler company, Hero MotoCorp sold 4,59,257 units in March 2024, recording a MoM growth of 3.1 per cent, as it sold 4,45,257 units in February 2024. However, with 5,02,730 units sold in March 2023, the YoY performance fell by 8.64 per cent. The thriving models in the line-up concerning March sales this year consist of Hero Splendor+, Hero HF Deluxe, Hero Passion Plus, Hero Super Splendor 125 and Hero Glamour.

HMSI Best Sellers

Despite selling Activa in steady numbers, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) witnessed a degrowth of 13.48 per cent in MoM sales performance, as sales came down from 4,13,967 units in February 2024 to 3,58,151 units in March 2024. However, compared to 1,97,512 units sold in March 2023, Honda sold almost 81.33 per cent more two-wheelers. The top seller list from the Japanese maker Honda Activa, Honda Shine 125, Honda Activa 125, Honda Livo and Honda SP125.

TVS Best Sellers

With 2,60,532 units of two-wheelers sold in March 2024, TVS recorded a minor degrowth of 2.6 per cent in MoM sales, as it sold 2,67,502 units in February 2024. However, with 2,40,780 units sold in March 2023, TVS posted a YoY growth of 8.2 per cent. The bike and scooter models that pumped up the March 2024 sales for the home-grown giant include TVS Jupiter, TVS Raider 125, TVS Radeon, TVS XL100 and TVS Jupiter 125.

Bajaj Auto Best Sellers

March 2024 was overwhelming for Bajaj Auto, as it sold 1,93,004 units in the month, thus recording a growth of 13.18 per cent in MoM sales (1,70,527 units sold in February 2024) and a growth of 26.73 per cent in YoY sales (1,52,287 units sold in March 2023). The high-selling models in the line-up include Bajaj Platina 100, Bajaj Platina 110, Bajaj CT110X, Bajaj Pulsar 125 and Bajaj Pulsar 150

Suzuki Best Sellers

Suzuki is another manufacturer which recorded positive growth figures in both MoM and YoY sales. The Japanese brand sold 86,164 units, thus recording a MoM growth of 3.43 per cent (83,304 units sold in February 2024) and a YoY growth of 17.92 per cent (73,069 units sold in March 2023). The best-selling two-wheelers comprise of Suzuki Access 125, Suzuki Burgman Street, Suzuki Avenis, Suzuki Gixxer, and Suzuki V-Strom SX.

Royal Enfield Bestsellers

Based on the consistent sales raked in by its 350cc lineup, Royal Enfield posted a YoY growth of 11.22 per cent, as it sold 66,604 units in March 2024 compared to 59,884 units sold in March 2023. However, as it sold 67,922 units in February 2024, the MoM sales fell by 1.94 per cent. The best sellers include Royal Enfield Bullet 350, Royal Enfield Classic 350, Royal Enfield Hunter 350, Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and Royal Enfield Himalayan.
