All-New Bajaj CNG Bike To Arrive in May-June 2024, Confirms Bajaj Auto

While the details about the upcoming CNG motorcycle from Bajaj Auto are sketchy, it might have a 100-125cc engine as the primary powerhouse. 

• It will be the world’s first CNG-powered motorcycle.
• The new CNG motorcycle aims to increase fuel efficiency and drastically reduce emissions.
• It will compete with 100-110cc commuter motorcycles from Hero MotoCorp, Honda and TVS.

Bajaj Auto has confirmed that it will be launching the world’s first-ever CNG-powered motorcycle in the next quarter of the current year. It means that the new CNG motorcycle from Bajaj Auto will be hitting the market between May and June 2024, which is coming much ahead of its earlier proposed timeline of 2025. 

In one of his recent interviews, Rajiv Bajaj, MD of Bajaj Auto, stated that the new CNG motorcycle from Bajaj will aim to halve the running costs of a conventional commuter motorcycle, in addition to significantly reducing the emission levels. In the trial runs ahead of its launch, this upcoming Bajaj CNG motorcycle has achieved 50 per cent lower CO2 emissions, 75 per cent lower CO emissions and 90 per cent lower non-methane hydrocarbon emissions. 

Currently, there are no details of the powertrain and engine displacement of the motorcycle, with no clarity even on how it will look. However, given its efficiency-oriented positioning, the new Bajaj CNG motorcycle might have an engine with a displacement between 100cc and 125cc. With this new motorcycle, Bajaj intends to affirm its presence in the commuter segment, where it has models like CT110X, CT125X, Platina 100 and Platina 110 H-Gear.

The new CNG motorcycle from Bajaj is expected to be one of the most fuel-efficient motorcycles in India. Besides Bajaj Auto’s 100-125cc commuters, the new Bajaj CNG motorcycle will also compete with 100-110cc commuters from Hero MotoCorp, Honda and TVS.
