News by Team Drivio | 13 Nov 2023

Hero MotoCorp is gearing up to strengthen its presence in the premium scooter segment, while also making a mark with two new performance motorcycle concepts.

  • Two new production-ready scooters were showcased – Xoom 160 and Xoom 125R.
  • Hero Lynx e-dirt bike concept marks the brand’s foray into the electric motorcycle category.
  • The Hero 2.5R Xtunt concept hints towards a 250cc naked roadster.

After creating a buzz with the teaser images of new products on its social media handles, Hero MotoCorp has pulled off the covers from its new scooters and motorcycle concepts. While the scooters look production-ready and may hit the market anytime soon, the motorcycle concepts preview motorcycles to expect from the brand in the future. At present, Hero retails popular two-wheeler models namely Hero HF Deluxe, Hero Xtreme 160 4V, Hero Maestro Edge, Hero Karizma XMR, and others in India.

Following are the details about all these new products showcased by Hero MotoCorp at EICMA 2023:

Hero Xoom 160 –

Likely to be a direct rival to the Yamaha Aerox 155, the Hero Xoom 160 is a tall adventure scooter with a central spine like the former. The new Xoom 160 is equipped with new-age features like all-LED lights, 14-inch wheels with dual-purpose tyres, a full-LCD instrument console, remote seat opening, and keyless ignition. Power comes from a new liquid-cooled, 156cc engine, which claims 14 bhp and 13.7 Nm.

Hero Xoom 125R –

Hero also showcased the new Xoom 125R, a sportier 125cc scooter likely to be positioned over the Maestro Edge 125. Featuring an aggressive bodywork, the Hero Xoom 125R gets all-LED lights with sequential LED indicators, a full-LCD dash, and 14-inch alloy wheels. The air-cooled, 124.6cc engine of the Xoom 125R churns out 9.5 bhp and 10.14 Nm.

Hero Lynx e-Dirt bike –

It is an electric dirt bike concept that weighs 82 kg and comes with a 15kW electric motor and a 3 kWh battery pack. This motorcycle concept might spawn an electric dirt bike under the Vida brand for off-road motorcycle competitions.

Hero 2.5R Xtunt Concept –

This 250cc concept roadster from Hero MotoCorp previews an aggressive bodywork, which includes winglets and raked body panels. The motorcycle gets a new liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, DOHC, 250cc engine, apart from premium elements like golden upside-down front forks, Brembo M50 monobloc caliper, track tyres, and billet machined foot pegs.
