Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) today made a groundbreaking move in the premium two-wheeler segment with the launch of its unique adventure scooter, the Honda X-ADV. Priced at ₹11.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Gurugram), the X-ADV carves out a new niche by blending the capabilities of an adventure motorcycle with the convenience and practicality of a large-capacity scooter.
This highly anticipated model will be sold exclusively through Honda's premium BigWing Topline dealerships across India. Bookings for the X-ADV have commenced, with customer deliveries slated to begin in June 2025. The adventure scooter will be brought to India via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route.
The Honda X-ADV is designed for riders seeking a versatile machine that is equally adept at navigating city streets and tackling light off-road trails. Its rugged styling, advanced technology, and unique positioning make it a standout offering in the Indian market.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Tsutsumu Otani, Managing Director, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, said, "We are thrilled to introduce the Honda X-ADV in India, a machine that truly redefines the concept of an adventure scooter. The X-ADV is a testament to Honda's engineering prowess and our commitment to bringing innovative and exciting products to Indian customers. It's designed for those who desire a distinctive riding experience, combining urban agility with the spirit of adventure."
Mr. Yogesh Mathur, Director, Sales and Marketing, HMSI, added, "The launch of the X-ADV is a significant step in expanding our premium BigWing portfolio. This is a unique product with no direct parallel in the market, offering unparalleled versatility. Whether it's daily commuting or weekend exploration, the X-ADV is built to conquer diverse terrains with comfort and style. We are confident it will appeal to discerning riders looking for something truly exceptional."

Engine and Performance: DCT-Equipped Adventurer
At its heart, the Honda X-ADV features a 745cc liquid-cooled, SOHC, 8-valve, parallel-twin engine. This robust motor delivers 43.1 kW (approximately 57.8 bhp) of power at 6,750 RPM and a peak torque of 69 Nm at 4,750 RPM.
A standout feature is Honda's renowned Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), a 6-speed automatic gearbox that provides seamless gear changes. The DCT offers both automatic (D mode) and manual (MT mode) shifting options, allowing riders to choose their preferred style.
Chassis and Suspension: Built for Versatility
The X-ADV is built on a rugged tubular steel diamond frame. Its suspension setup is designed for comfort and capability across different terrains, featuring:
- 41mm Upside-Down (USD) Front Forks with long travel.
- Pro-Link Rear Monoshock with preload adjustment.
Braking is handled by powerful dual 296mm front discs with radial-mount four-piston calipers and a 240mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS as standard. The scooter has a ground clearance of 165mm, a seat height of 820mm, and a kerb weight of around 237 kg. The fuel tank capacity is 13.2 litres.
Colour Options and Competition
The Honda X-ADV will be available in India in two colour options: Pearl Glare White and Graphite Black.
Given its unique "adventure scooter" positioning and premium price point, the Honda X-ADV doesn't have direct competitors in the Indian market. However, in terms of pricing for large-capacity scooters, it finds itself in the vicinity of the BMW C400 GT (priced around ₹11.50 lakh ex-showroom), though the BMW is a road-focused maxi-scooter with a smaller engine. The X-ADV aims to attract riders looking for a highly differentiated product that offers both the ease of a scooter and the spirit of an adventure motorcycle.
