Upcoming Harley-Davidson X440 Seen On Public Roads For The 1st Time

News by Team Drivio | 12 Jun 2023

Harley-Davidson’s most affordable bike still looks premium and coherent.

  • The Harley-Davidson X440 bike will be launched on July 3.
  • On the X440 will debut Harley’s brand new 450cc air-cooled engine.
  • It’s expected that the X440 will be priced around Rs 2.7 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Harley-Davidson has recently released clear images of the X440 motorcycle being tested on public roads, and the bike's overall appearance is undeniably appealing and luxurious. While the matte black exhaust may not be to everyone's taste, the design elements such as the fuel tank inspired by the Harley-Davidson XR1200R, the presence of multiple round features, and the retro roadster aesthetics all contribute to its attractive look.

We already have some information about the bike's specifications. It will come equipped with an inverted fork, twin shocks, and 17-inch alloy wheels fitted with new MRF Zapper Hyke tires. With its wide handlebars and footpegs positioned relatively in the middle, the X440 promises a comfortable and laidback riding experience. Previous glimpses of the bike have also showcased premium-looking switchgear.

Here’s everything the upcoming bike will get in terms of suspension, tyres and brakes.

We also expect the bike to be a fairly good handler given its small wheels. While the MRF Zapper tyres won’t be the grippiest, we expect them to provide enough grip when cornering the bike or pushing it to its limits.

The official launch of the X440 is scheduled for July 3, and our estimate suggests that it could carry an ex-showroom price of around Rs 2.7 lakh. Once launched in India, it will face stiff competition from two upcoming bikes: the Triumph-Bajaj Roadster and the Royal Enfield Hunter 450.
