Bajaj Sales Breakup July 2025 – Pulsar, Chetak, Dominar & Avenger Figures

by | 15 Sep 2025

In July 2025, Bajaj Auto’s sales chart shows a mix of strength and strain across its key two-wheeler brands: PulsarChetakDominar, and Avenger. While Pulsar continues to dominate volumes in the domestic motorcycle segment, Chetak—the electric scooter offering—is under pressure due to supply issues. This article unpacks the numbers behind each model’s performance and what they mean for Bajaj's market positioning.

Pulsar: Continuing Domination, But Declining YoY

The Pulsar lineup remains Bajaj’s biggest volume contributor. In July 2025, Bajaj retailed approximately 79,817 units of Pulsar domestically. This carried a sizeable share of the company’s motorcycle sales. However, this figure represents a drop compared to July 2024, signalling weaker Year-on-Year (YoY) demand in the Pulsar range.

Chetak: Production & Sales Impacted by Supply Constraints

Chetak’s numbers took a significant hit in July 2025, largely because of a shortage of heavy rare-earth magnets, which are critical for its motor assembly. Production slumped by nearly 47% YoY, with only about 10,824 units produced compared to over 20,300 units in the same month last year. Sales/wholesale to dealers similarly fell to around 11,584 units.

Dominar vs Avenger: Modest Volumes, Mixed Trends

  • Dominar sales in July remained modest. The 250cc and 400cc variants did not post strong growth and are under pressure, especially compared to the Pulsar’s high volume brackets. Exact figures from July show Dominar lagging behind Avenger in that month.
  • Avenger, while also niche, seems to have improved its position relative to Dominar for July 2025; Avenger sales reportedly surpassed Dominar in that month.

Overall Bajaj Two-Wheeler Sales: Domestic Decline, Export Strength

In total, Bajaj sold about 1,39,279 two-wheelers domestically in July 2025, a drop of ~18% YoY from ~1,68,847 units in July 2024. At the same time, exports of two-wheelers increased (~22%) versus last year, helping offset the domestic decline.

Conclusion

The July 2025 sales data reveals clear winners and setbacks for Bajaj. Pulsar still rides high, commanding the bulk of volumes, though YoY declines indicate that competition or market saturation may be biting. Chetak's tumble due to supply chain disruptions is a warning sign for EV reliability and component sourcing in India. Avenger modestly edges ahead of Dominar this month, showing there is still appetite for cruiser / touring bikes, though volumes remain small.

For riders who prioritize performance and mass adoption, Pulsar remains the safe bet. Those interested in EV, like Chetak, will need to be patient as Bajaj addresses magnet shortages. Dominar and Avenger are more for enthusiasts or niche buyers who value style, comfort and touring capability over sheer numbers.

Overall, Bajaj’s value proposition in July 2025 hinges on maintaining its strong Pulsar base, recovering EV production, and feeding its niche models with consistent supply and character.
