2023 Hero Xtreme 160R Incoming

News by Team Drivio | Jun 07, 2023

The bike could be sold alongside the existing 160R.

  • Hero will launch the updated bike on June 14
  • The major update the new Xtreme 160R will receive is an inverted fork and a cleaner engine.
  • We expect a Rs 5,000 hike in the asking price for the updates.

Hero MotoCorp is preparing to unveil the new Xtreme 160R on June 14, 2023. The motorcycle has been spotted undergoing testing in India several times and is expected to come with several design and hardware enhancements. Although specific details are currently limited, one notable upgrade will be the addition of a USD (Upside-Down) fork, as seen on a test prototype.

The engine of the new Xtreme 160R is likely to remain the same: a 163cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that currently produces 15.2PS of power and 14Nm of torque. However, it will be upgraded to be compatible with E20 fuel and meet the BS6 phase 2 emission standards.

The price of the upcoming Xtreme 160R is anticipated to start from Rs 1.19 lakh, with a slight increase of approximately Rs 5,000 compared to the current model. It will continue to compete in the highly competitive 160cc segment, challenging rivals such as the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Bajaj Pulsar N160, and Pulsar NS160.

The new USD fork and other bits should help the bike compete in the 160cc commuter segment a lot better. Here’s how much the current Xtreme 160R and all its variants cost:
