All-new India-bound Aprilia RS 457 Unveiled, To Launch In India Soon

Inspired by the larger RS 660, the new Aprilia RS 457 will be the Italian brand’s most affordable super sport motorcycle here in India.

Aprilia has announced its new middleweight super sport motorcycle, the RS 457, for all the global markets, including India. Designed and developed in Italy, the new Aprilia RS 457 will be manufactured in India at Piaggi's Baramati manufacturing facility. The new RS 457 is the first motorcycle from Aprilia which has debuted in India.

Positioned below Aprilia’s other more powerful middleweight super sport motorcycle, the RS 660, the new RS 457 takes design inspiration from the former. Like the RS 660, the new Aprilia RS 457 also gets a sharp-looking fully-faired bodywork, comprising of bold graphics, a full-LED headlamp and a 5-inch full-TFT instrument console. The motorcycle also gets split seats, a lifted tail section, an underbelly exhaust pipe and an LED tail lamp.

In terms of electronic riding aids, the new Aprilia RS 457 packs in ride-by-wire, dual-channel ABS and three levels of traction control, while a bi-directional quick-shifter is offered as an accessory. The motorcycle gets a liquid-cooled, parallel-twin, 457cc engine, which is paired to a 6-speed transmission and claims to produce 48 PS of maximum power output. The motorcycle is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with TVS EurogripProtorq Extreme radial tubeless tyres.

The Aprilia RS 457 will be officially launched in India in the coming weeks, and will directly compete with the Kawasaki Ninja 400. Earlier this month, we witnessed the launch of Hero Karizma XMR and TVS Apache RTR 310 in India.
