BMW Motorrad has unleashed its awaited streetfighter, the BMW M 1000 R in India. Launched in two trim levels – Standard and Competition, it is priced between Rs 33-38 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The hypernaked 1-ltr bike has several ride modes namely Rain, Road, Dynamic, Race, and Race Pro 1-3. The new BMW M 1000 R is the highest capacity 'S 1000 R' bike featuring 'M' (Motorsport) grade features, components, and parts over the standard BMW 1000 R bike.

On the design part, the M 1000 R receives a single pod headlight with a big-fat beefy fuel tank making it butch and enthralling. For maximum control, BMW bike sports a flat and wide handlebar along with a split seat. Whereas, the Competition variant, in order to look distinct boasts BMW’s signature shades aka black, red, and blue.

Its 999cc, inline, four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine churns out a peak power of 209bhp at 14,500 rpm and the highest torque value of 113Nm at 11,000 rpm. Coupled with a 6-speed gearbox it also features a slip-and-assist clutch and BMW’s Shift am technology. Besides this, its feature list comprises a 6.5-inch TFT screen, ABS, engine brake control, launch control, traction control, wheelie control, and others.
