The deliveries of the Simple One begin two weeks after its price announcement.

  • Prices of the Simple One start at Rs 1.45 lakh.
  • Simple One claims a 212 km range in a full charge – the highest in its category.

Bengaluru-based Simple Energy has started the deliveries of its first product for the Indian market – the Simple One electric scooter. The prices of Simple One were announced two weeks ago, with the single-tone colour options priced at Rs 1.45 lakh and dual-tone ones at Rs 1.50 lakh. The company delivered the first batch of 15 scooters at its inaugural event and claims to have received more than 1 lakh bookings.

Simple Energy is also on an expansion spree, with the company now expanding the number of its stores to 160-180 in 40-50 cities. The Simple One comes standard with a 5kWh lithium-ion battery, which claims a maximum IDC-claimed range of 212 km. The battery can be charged from 0 to 80 per cent in 5 hours and 54 minutes using home chargers, while it can be charged at a faster rate of 1.5 km per minute up to 80 per cent using fast chargers.

The Simple One sources its power from an 8.5kW electric motor, which generates a continuous power output of 4.5kW and a peak torque output of 72 Nm. With this electric motor, the Simple One claims to go from 0 to 40 kmph in 2.77 seconds and achieve a top speed of 105 kmph. The scooter also has features like a 7-inch touch-controlled TFT instrument console, Bluetooth connectivity, all-LED lighting, OTA updates and four riding modes – Eco, Ride, Dash and Sonic.

The Simple One is available in six colour options – four single-tone (white, black, red and blue) and two dual-tone (white and black). The Simple One competes with Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X and Bajaj Chetak.
