Harley-Davidson X440 Production & Delivery Timelines Revealed

Bookings for the retro roadster are slated to close on August 3. 

• Test rides, meanwhile, will begin from the 1st of September. 
• Production too will begin around September. 
• It’s likely that the price will go up when the next bookings window opens.

Hero MotoCorp has witnessed a tremendous response to the Harley-Davidson X440, prompting the company to close online bookings for the bike on August 3. The demand for this affordable Harley model has been so substantial that production of the X440 will commence in September at their 'Garden Factory' in Neemrana, Rajasthan. To meet the soaring demand, Hero is currently expanding production capacity at the facility.

For customers eagerly awaiting the X440, test rides will be available starting from September 1, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in October. However, the company has not disclosed the date for the next online booking window, and they have hinted that prices may rise when bookings reopen.

As of now, the introductory prices for the Harley X440 range from Rs 2.29 lakh to Rs 2.69 lakh (ex-showroom, India) for the top-tier 'S' variant. We rode the bike as well and found it to be quite an impressive one, especially for the fantastic price it comes at. 

Interestingly, its chief rival, Triumph, has also launched the competing model Triumph Speed 400, and the bikes are being dispatched from its factory in Chakan, near Pune. What Bajaj has also done, is sneakily raise the booking amount for the Speed 400 from Rs 2,000 to Rs 10,000. The competition in the market seems to be heating up with these attractive offerings from different manufacturers.
