Harley-Davidson’s Most Affordable Bike Is Here

The Harley-DavidsonX440 brings the appeal of a retro bike with the kit of a modern one. 

  • Harley-Davidson has priced the X440 at a rather enticing Rs 2.29 lakh. 
  • The X440 is on sale in three trims: Denim, Vivid and S. 
  • Harley’s smallest bike’s rivals include the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Honda H’ness CB350. 

Harley-Davidson has launched the X440 bike in India, starting at Rs 2.29 lakh for the base Denim version and going up to Rs 2.69 lakh for the top-spec S version.

The X440 is powered by a 440cc, air-/oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 27hp at 6,000rpm and 38Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. It comes with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike has a steel trellis frame, a 43mm USD fork, and twin shock absorbers. It has a large 320mm front rotor for braking, and dual-channel ABS is standard.

The seat height is 805mm, which is comfortable, and the bike weighs 190.5kg with a full 13.5-litre fuel tank. It has a ground clearance of 170mm and rides on MRF Zapper Hyke tyres (100/90-18 front, 140/70-17 rear).

There are different variants available. The base Denim variant has wire-spoke rims and minimal badging. The mid-tier Vivid variant comes with alloy wheels and dual-tone paint options. The top-spec S variant features diamond-cut alloy wheels, machined engine cooling fins, 3D badging, and a colour TFT dash with Bluetooth connectivity for navigation and notifications.

The Denim variant costs Rs 2.29 lakh, and each subsequent variant adds Rs 20,000 to the price. So, the Vivid variant costs Rs 2.49 lakh, and the top-spec S variant costs Rs 2.69 lakh. The Harley-Davidson X440 is priced around Rs 35,000 higher than the popular Royal Enfield Classic 350 (Rs 1.93 lakh-Rs 2.21 lakh).
