As a part of the yearly update being executed for its entire lineup, Honda has now tweaked the CBR500R middleweight sports tourer. The fully-faired Honda CBR500R gets two new colour options, which have replaced the previously-available colour options for the motorcycle. The new Honda CBR500R now goes on sale in many global markets, though there’s no confirmation related to its launch in India.
What are the updates received by the 2023 Honda CBR500R?
The only update that the 2023 Honda CBR500R receives over its previous iteration is the new choices of colours in which it will be available – Grand Prix Red and Sword Silver Metallic. In the Grand Prix Red, the CBR500R is finished in a shade of red, well contrasted by white and black graphics. The Sword Silver Metallic, on the other hand, is a combination of grey and black colours, which are contrasted by yellow highlights.
Are there any mechanical updates in the 2023 Honda CBR500R?
For 2023, Honda has retained the mechanical setup of the CBR500R, which continues to be powered by a four-stroke, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, 471cc engine. Paired with a 6-speed gearbox, this engine puts up 47.5 bhp of maximum power and 43 Nm of maximum torque output. In terms of features, the 2023 Honda CBR500R continues to be decently equipped with modern features like all-LED headlamps, a fully-digital instrument console, LED tail lamp and turn indicators, dual-channel ABS and a slip-and-assist clutch.
When is the 2023 Honda CBR500R launch in India?
For now, Honda hasn’t revealed any launch plans related to the 2023 CBR500R in India. Its semi-faired sibling, the CB500X, was available in India. However, due to its exorbitantly high price point, it couldn’t find many buyers, leading to its early demise. While there are some reports about the comeback of the 2023 CB500X in India with a revised price point, there are no such reports about the arrival of the CBR500R in India. The Honda CBR500R is a direct rival to Kawasaki Ninja 400.
