New Yamaha Aerox 155 S Launched In India, Gets Remote Keyless Ignition

The remote keyless ignition offered in the new Yamaha Aerox 155 S is similar to the one offered in the H-Smart variant of all Honda scooters in India. 

• The new Yamaha Aerox 155 S is priced at Rs 1,50,600 – Rs 3,000 more expensive than the standard variant of the scooter. 
• The new Aerox 155 S remains mechanically unchanged, with the liquid-cooled 155cc engine offering the same power and torque outputs. 
• The 2024 Yamaha Aerox 155 S rivals the Aprilia SXR 160.

Yamaha’s flagship scooter in India, the Aerox 155, has received a new, more premium variant, the Aerox 155 S. Compared to the standard version, the new Yamaha Aerox 155 gets keyless ignition as standard and the only add-on over the former. With this added feature, the Yamaha Aerox 155 S has become even more desirable over its only direct rival, the Aprilia SXR 160. 

In Yamaha Aerox 155 S, the conventional key-shutter mechanism for the ignition keyhole has been replaced by a switch, which can be used to turn on or off the ignition of the scooter, with the remote key in the proximity of the scooter. The new keyless ignition also offers the feature of locating the scooter, in which the location of the scooter can be determined by the press of a button on the remote key.

Priced at Rs 1,50,600, the new Yamaha Aerox 155 S is around Rs 3,000 more expensive than the standard variant of the scooter. This particular variant is available only in two colours – Racing Blue and Silver. Apart from this new feature, the new Yamaha Aerox 155 S remains mechanically unchanged.
