The same has been teased on social media as well.

  • It seems like Ola has the TVS Jupiter Classic in the crosshairs.
  • The scooter will likely boast of some retro elements.
  • This will be a departure from the otherwise funky e-scooter.

Ola Electric's CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, has hinted at the introduction of a new variant to the existing S1 line-up. While discussing the S1 Pro and Air models, he mentioned a third scooter that is set to be launched in July. The details regarding this new variant are limited, but a teaser image showcases a scooter on the right side, featuring what appears to be a windshield. This has led to speculation that Ola may follow in the footsteps of TVS Jupiter Classic and create a retro-themed version of their scooter with additional accessories.

For perspective, here are more details about what the Ola S1 Pro packs, in terms of its motor, battery capacity, top speed and range:

Specifications  Ola S1 Pro
Motor8.5kW
Top Speed116kmph
Battery4kWh
Range170km (Eco Mode)

The retro-inspired variant could potentially include features such as a windshield, cushioned backrest, centre stand, and classic colour options. However, no further information about this new trim has been revealed. Fortunately, the wait for its launch in July is relatively short. It's worth noting that Ola's scooter prices have recently increased by up to Rs 15,000 due to revised FAME 2 subsidies. That means the prices for it now begin from Rs 1,09,999, which is for the Ola S1 Air.

The Ola S1 and the S1 Pro, meanwhile, now cost Rs 1,29,999 and Rs 1,39,999 respectively, both prices ex-showroom Bengaluru. This is because the amount of subsidy provided by the government for the FAME 2 subsidy has reduced drastically.
