With affordable pricing, the new Simple Dot One scooter is directly aimed at Ola S1 X.

  • Simple Energy confirms sub-Rs 1 lakh pricing and a 3.7kWh fixed battery pack with an IDC-claimed range of 160 km.
  • The design of the Simple Dot One will be on the lines of the already-on-sale Simple One.
  • The new scooter will also get “over 30 liters of storage space” and a TFT instrument console.

Simple Energy, a Bengaluru-based startup of electric two-wheelers, has announced a new affordable electric scooter, Simple Dot One, for the Indian two-wheeler market. Simple Energy will be launching the new Simple Dot One electric scooter on December 15th, 2023. It claims to price the new Dot One electric scooter below Rs 1 lakh, making it significantly more affordable than its current sole offering, the Simple One.

With a sub-Rs 1 lakh pricing, the Simple Dot One will be directly aiming at the newly launched Ola S1 X electric scooter, the prices of which start at Rs 89,999. The news of Simple Dot One being announced is a surprising move by Simple Energy, which recently refunded the booking amounts of the Simple One electric scooter to the customers who pre-booked it before its launch.

The new Simple Dot One electric scooter will come with a fixed 3.7kWh battery pack, which claims to deliver an IDC-certified range of 160 km. The electric motor to be offered in the Simple Dot One will be less powerful than that of the Simple One, which has a claimed power output of 8.5kW.

While Simple Energy hasn’t revealed the design details or teaser of the Simple Dot One, the scooter is expected to be designed on the lines of Simple One. However, the new Dot One scooter is confirmed to get “over 30 litres of storage” and a touchscreen TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity.
