Simple One Electric Scooter Launch Date Revealed

News by Team Drivio | 29 Apr 2023

The Simple One e-scooter will be launched in India next month.

  • Simple One’s base variant is on sale for Rs 1,09,999, while the extended battery variant retails for Rs 1,44,999.
  • A range of 236km means it boasts of a higher range than the Ola S1 Pro too!
  • All of this at a price tag that seems extremely reasonable.

The Simple One finally has a release date: May 26, 2023. This comes not one, but two years after the e-scooter was first introduced, and has kept us waiting with bated breath. Fortunately, we had the opportunity to try a pre-production prototype of the e-scooter last year, and we were completely captivated by it. However, the enormous delivery delays may have forced many potential consumers to turn elsewhere.

Suhas Rajkumar, the CEO of Simple Energy, revealed that the One has undergone more rigorous testing in order to extract higher performance and range. The aesthetics are supposed to have improved as well, but we'll have to wait till we see the finished product to comment on that.

With many delays in the launch and delivery timetables, it remains to be seen whether potential purchasers are still interested in the e-scooter or have chosen one of the numerous alternatives. Despite the early reveal and ride, the One has been in development for quite some time. It now has increased performance and range, claiming a staggering 236km of IDC range.

We anticipate that e-scooter deliveries will commence in May as well. In addition, we hope that the One's costs remain the same as previously announced — Rs 1,09,999 (ex-Bengaluru, including FAME-II subsidies) for the base model and Rs 1,44,999 for the extended battery pack version. We hope that the company will finally fulfil the enormous promise that its electric scooter holds.

It competes with e-scooters like the Ather 450X and Ola S1 Pro.
