Simple One: India’s Fastest Electric Scooter Launching On May 23rd

The Simple One will be the brand’s flagship product for the Indian market. 

• Its 4.8kWh battery pack claims a massive 236km range. 
• Accompanying this is an impressive 105kmph top speed. 
• What’s even more unique is the 72Nm of torque at the wheel. 

Bengaluru-based Simple will see the debut of its electric scooter, the One, on May 23. But that's all there is to it—the company's first product was unveiled in August 2021. The launch date for the Simple One was unclear up until a few weeks ago.

The Simple One is a product with endless features. It has a 7-inch TFT instrument display, a 30-litre underseat storage compartment, swappable batteries, a combined braking system, rapid charging, and all-LED lighting. The TFT display includes document storage, OTA updates, geo fence, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and vehicle tracking.

The Simple One has experienced numerous adjustments during the past two years. There are numerous cosmetic modifications as well as technical advancements when compared to what was displayed in 2021. Last year, we rode the pre-production model and were very impressed. Hopefully, the Simple One deliveries will begin shortly following the formal debut. 

Due to the several delays in the launch and delivery timetables, it is still unclear how addicted potential consumers will still be to the One. And since Simple One was first introduced, its competitors have only grown.

The 4.5kW motor in this e-scooter is rated to produce 72Nm and reach a top speed of 105kmph. An excellent 236km IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range is claimed for its 4.8kWh battery.

 Another thing to watch out for is whether Simple keeps the e-scooter's starting price of Rs 1,09,999 for the normal model and Rs 1,44,999 (ex-Bengaluru, incl. FAME-II subsidies) for the version with an extended battery pack. It competes with e-scooters like the Ather 450X and Ola S1 Pro.
