News by Team Drivio | 14 Feb 2024

Triumph Motorcycles has expanded its popular Scrambler range in India with the launch of the more accessible Scrambler 1200 X priced at Rs 11.83 lakh (ex-showroom).

  • The 1200 X features a lower 820mm seat height that can be dropped to 795mm for shorter riders.
  • It is powered by the same 1,200cc parallel-twin engine as the 1200 XC producing 89hp and 110Nm.
  • The bike gets a basic suspension setup and axially mounted brake calipers to keep costs accessible.

The Scrambler 1200 X brings Triumph's capable scrambler package to a wider audience in India. With its lower seat height and competitive pricing, it could gain good traction in the market.

Lower Seat Height for Shorter Riders

The key highlight of the Scrambler 1200 X is its lower seat height of 820mm, which can be further dropped to 795mm. This makes the motorcycle more comfortable for shorter riders compared to the taller Scrambler 1200 XC variant.

Powered by 1200cc Parallel-Twin Engine

The Scrambler 1200 X draws power from the same 1,200cc parallel-twin engine as the 1200 XC, tuned to produce 89hp and 110Nm of torque. The motor is paired to a 6-speed gearbox.

Five Riding Modes

The bike comes equipped with five riding modes - Rain, Road, Sport, Off-road and Rider configurable. These modes optimize the throttle response and traction control settings to suit different riding conditions.

Basic Suspension Setup

Unlike the adjustable suspension on the 1200 XC, the 1200 X features basic suspension components to keep costs low. It gets conventional telescopic front forks and an adjustable mono-shock unit at the rear crafted by Marzocchi.

Axially Mounted Brake Calipers

Braking hardware consists of Nissin-sourced axially mounted calipers gripping twin discs at the front and rear. Switchable dual-channel ABS is offered as standard. The 1200 XC uses higher-spec Brembo calipers.

Generous 15-Litre Fuel Tank

The Scrambler 1200 X benefits from a large 15-litre fuel tank that should allow it to cover long distances between fuel stops. The motorcycle tips the scales at 228kg.

Digital Instrument Console

Among other features, the 1200 X is equipped with an LCD digital instrument console offering handy information like gear position indicator, fuel gauge, trip meters and more. Overall, the Scrambler 1200 X brings Triumph’s capable 1200cc scrambler package to a wider audience at an attractive price point.
