TVS Raider Dual Disc Variant Launched: All You Need to Know

by | 7 Oct 2025

TVS Motor has just unveiled a new chapter for its sporty 125cc commuter — the TVS Raider Dual Disc variant. This refresh packs segment-first innovations and stronger hardware into a package aimed at enthusiasts who want both style and substance. With dual-disc brakes (front and rear), single-channel ABS, and a Boost Mode addition, this version positions itself as the most advanced Raider to date. Here’s a deep dive into what’s new and whether it’s worth your attention.

Engine & Performance

Under the skin, the Raider Dual Disc continues to use the 124.8 cc, three-valve, air-cooled engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox — the same foundation used across the Raider lineup. However, TVS has introduced a Boost Mode (via “iGO Assist”) that raises torque from the standard 11.2 Nm to 11.75 Nm@6,000 rpm when the rider demands sudden acceleration. The baseline power remains in line with earlier Raider models, and thus top speed and midrange dynamics are expectedly similar. The addition is primarily about responsiveness during overtakes and keeping momentum in dense traffic.

Chassis & Handling

To match the added braking hardware, TVS equips the Dual Disc variant with front and rear disc brakes, backed by single-channel ABS — a first among 125cc sporty commuters in India. This should improve rear braking control and distribute load more evenly under hard stops. The tyre setup also gets an upgrade: 90/90-17 at the front and 110/80-17 at the rear, offering a wider contact patch and better grip in corners. The underpinnings—telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable mono-shock at the rear—remain unchanged, preserving nimble handling and composure for city commuting.

Technology & Features

As with top Raider trims, the Dual Disc variant offers two instrument cluster options: a Reverse LCD console with ~85 features or a full-colour TFT display boasting over 99 features. Both support TVS SmartXonnect, enabling Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, voice assist, call & notification management, and more. New design cues include a metallic silver finishred alloy wheels, and a Follow-Me headlamp that stays lit briefly after shutting off, enhancing usability in low-light parking spots. Another novel inclusion is Glide-Through Technology (GTT), allowing the bike to creep forward at low speeds with minimal throttle input—helpful in slow traffic.

Price & Positioning

The ex-showroom Delhi price for the new Raider Dual Disc starts at ₹93,800 for the SXC (Reverse LCD) version and ₹95,600 for the TFT Dual Disc variant. These put the new models at a premium over existing Raider variants, but justify the gap with enhanced braking, added features, and cosmetic upsides.

In sum, the TVS Raider Dual Disc variant sharpens the edge of an already polished 125cc commuter. It blends performance upgrades (especially braking and low-speed usability), tech enhancements, and refreshed styling to target discerning riders. If you’re someone who values safety, agility, and connected features without stepping into bigger displacements, this is a compelling option. For daily commuting with a dose of sporty excitement, the Raider Dual Disc raises the bar in its class.
