VLF Mobster 135 scooter launched at ₹1.30 lakh

by | 26 Sep 2025

Italian-origin brand VLF (Velocifero) has officially launched its latest petrol scooter, the VLF Mobster 135, in the Indian market at an introductory price of ₹1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). Aimed at riders seeking a blend of style, technology, and performance in the 125cc segment, this model introduces features like liquid cooling, switchable dual-channel ABS, and traction control—rare offerings in its class. With this launch, VLF hopes to carve a niche among performance-oriented scooter buyers.

Engine & Performance

Under its aggressive exterior, the Mobster 135 is powered by a 125 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that delivers 12.1 PS at 8,250 rpm and 11.7 Nm at 6,500 rpm, making it one of the few liquid-cooled scooters in India. The motor is mated to an automatic CVT (infinitely variable transmission), and VLF claims a top speed of 100 km/h along with a mileage of 46 km/l. These figures hint that the Mobster 135 is oriented more toward sporty cruising than sheer city commuting efficiency.

Chassis & Handling

Built on a high-tensile steel frame, the Mobster runs on 12-inch alloy wheels shod with 120/70 (front) and 130/70 (rear) tyres. Suspension is handled by telescopic front forks and dual gas-charged rear shock absorbers, aiming for a balance between road comfort and responsive handling. Braking is robust, with a 230 mm front disc and 220 mm rear disc, aided by switchable dual-channel ABS. At 122 kg kerb weight and with a seat height of 797 mm and ground clearance of 155 mm, the Mobster is reasonably lithe yet does demand attention to rider ergonomics.

Technology & Features

The Mobster comes loaded for its category. A 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity enables access to call/SMS alerts, ride statistics, and turn-by-turn navigation. It also offers keyless ignitionilluminated switchgear, and switchable traction control, elevating it to the higher end of scooter features. LED projector headlamps, all-LED lighting, and sharp bodywork with a visor and muscular panels reinforce its bold styling. In terms of utility, it provides under-seat storage sufficient for a half-face helmet, a USB charging port, and lever guards. The distribution network, however, is currently modest — VLF is operating via Motohaus with about 12 dealerships in India, with planned expansion.

Conclusion

The VLF Mobster 135 arrives as a bold statement in India’s 125cc scooter segment — offering liquid cooling, high-end electronic aids, and striking styling that few rivals currently match. While its ₹1.30 lakh introductory price (for the first 2,500 buyers) places it above many conventional scooters, the tech and performance credentials justify the premium for enthusiasts. The Mobster is ideal for riders who want more than a commuter scooter — those who value flair, features, and fun. If VLF can scale its sales and service reach, the Mobster 135 could well become a cult favorite in India’s “performance scooter” niche.
