Hero Splendor iSmart 110 Review: New Age Tech Impresses The Most

Reviews by Team Drivio | 22 May 2023

It’s the brand’s first bike after their split from Honda.

  • The power and torque outputs i.e. 9.5PS and 9Nm doesn’t sound all that impressive.
  • Its design, though, is a lot more impressive than the Splendor’s.
  • You even get a digital inset.

Splendor has been used as a name for a very long time. What began as a CD100 with some plastic accessories attached has since given rise to a large number of motorcycles that serve every sub-segment in the confused commuter segment. This one, the Splendor iSmart 110 is the most unique of all the six Splendors on sale as of now. Here’s how:

Hero Splendor iSmart 110: Design & Features

It can be challenging to develop something that stands out in the commuter market. They all essentially have the same design elements and colour palette. The Hero Splendor iSmart 110 also uses the same design elements and colour scheme, but it has enough unique features to stand out slightly.

For instance, the headlamp is distinctive due to its tulip-like design. In order to produce a very different appearance from what the others in the category are doing, the colour scheme also makes use of the twin colours and few stickers.

The Hero Splendor iSmart 110 is an attractive motorcycle all around. The construction quality is excellent, and every component has a nice finish. Having said that, the paint lacks the sheen of the TVS Victor, and the seat foam could have used a little more firmness.

Although not as spacious as some of the others in the sector, the riding position is normally for commuters. However, the iSmart has a few unique characteristics. Of course, the i3S system comes first. The Automatic Headlamp On feature also keeps the headlights on constantly. A helpful side stand indicator is also included, which is quickly becoming a standard fitment on almost all new Heros.

Hero Splendor iSmart 110: Engine

Engine specs for the Hero Splendor iSmart 110 include 9.5 PS and 9 Nm of torque. The motor's method of power delivery is what makes it magical. The motorcycle allows you to ride in high gears at moderate speeds without batting an eye. The torque spread is vast.

You are followed by this lack of drama over the entire rev range. Through all gears and rpm, the engine maintains its fineness. Except when you're breaking speed records, there are no buzzes or vibrations that bother you. But if you were, you'd notice that the iSmart 110's top speed is just under 90 kph and that it takes 6.9 seconds to reach 60 kph. However, the iSmart has never been focused on that.

Admit it. In this portion, corner carving skills are not required. What you're searching for is the capacity to travel within an urban environment with little effort and occasionally perform highway responsibilities as well. Therefore, it is absurd to fit track-spec suspension and extremely sticky tyres to a commuting motorcycle. Hero is aware of this and equipped the iSmart 110 with suspension and tyres they believe to be the best fit for this use.

Despite this, it isn't a terrible handler. It turns in fairly quickly, and changing directions is simple. The Hero Splendor iSmart 110's setup, however, is a little too flimsy. The motorcycle does a good job of absorbing bumps and uneven roads, but as the speed increases and the potholes get bigger, the motorcycle suffers.

Hero Splendor iSmart 110: Price

Hero Splendor iSmart 110Rs 53,300

When you consider the new Splendor's superb fit-finish levels and construction quality, the Splendor iSmart is Hero MotoCorp's genuine attempt to lift the ante in the 110cc commuter segment. Even more intriguing, however, is the fact that the new iSmart's price, Rs 53,300, is actually lower than that of the previous iSmart. This implies that for less money, you can purchase a whole new motorcycle that is faster, more attractive, and more sophisticated.

Verdict

This Hero Splendor iSmart 110 motorcycle is a fantastic machine. Additionally, it is priced similarly to other vehicles in the same market, such as the Honda Livo, at Rs 53,300 (ex-showroom Delhi). But the question on most people's minds is whether they should purchase the iSmart in order to take advantage of the i3S's efficiency advantages.

No, is the response. The vehicle should be purchased for its attractiveness, comfort during the journey, powerful engine, and refinement. In essence, you should purchase the iSmart because it is a reliable 110cc solution that fulfils all of your expectations. But what about the rivalry? That is a query for a different day.
