2023 Okhi-90 e-scooter from Okinawa launched at Rs 1.86 lakh

It receives updated long range battery and host of new features.

Well-known electric two-wheeler maker Okinawa Autotech has introduced the new and updated avatar of the Okhi-90 electric scooter in India. Tagged at Rs 1.86 lakh (ex-showroom), the flagship e-scooter is claimed to run 160 km on a single charge. The Okinawa Okhi-90 is offered in four shades (Red, Blue, Grey, and White), while the deliveries will began from September 2023.

The Okhi-90 now features an advanced AIS-156 Amendment 3 compliant new battery pack. Other attributes that make this Okinawa scooter special is its innovative motor, quick charging time and a host of modern enhancements.

The suspension setup of the scooter is a hydraulic suspension unit in front coupled with a rear double shocker arrangement. Whereas, some more advanced traits include a micro-charger with an auto-cut feature and E-ABS (Electronic-Assisted Braking System) with regenerative energy.

As per Okinawa Autotech, they are now upgrading all their India portfolio products, for this they have collaborated with Tacita, a renowned Italian tech firm. The 2023 Okhi-90 list of features comprise of a digital speedometer, Bluetooth connectivity, an anti-theft alarm, and GPS navigation, while mobile app connectivity include speed monitoring and real-time battery SOC on the move. 

Okhi-90 boasts a claimed top speed of 90 km/hr and a range of 160 kilometres on a single charge. The marathon battery can be refilled in 4 to 5 hour’s time. 

Okinawa Autotech made the sales of 2,616 units in June 2023. This saw a substantial down of 10 percent in comparison of the 2,907 units sold in May 2023. According to Okinawa, the reduction in the sale can be attributed to the lessening of the FAME 2 subsidies in the country.
