2025 Honda CBR650R E-Clutch Variant Launched in India at ₹10.40 Lakh
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has introduced the 2025 CBR650R E-Clutch variant in the Indian market, priced at ₹10.40 lakh (ex-showroom). This new model brings advanced E-Clutch technology to the middleweight sportbike segment, enhancing ride comfort and convenience, especially in urban traffic conditions.
Advanced E-Clutch Technology
The highlight of the 2025 Honda CBR650R is the introduction of the E-Clutch system. This technology allows riders to shift gears without manually operating the clutch lever. The system uses servo motors to manage clutch engagement, making gear transitions smoother and reducing rider fatigue in stop-and-go traffic. Riders still have the option to use the clutch manually if preferred.
Performance and Specifications
Under the hood, the CBR650R E-Clutch variant is powered by a 649cc, inline four-cylinder engine that delivers 94 bhp at 12,000 rpm and 63 Nm of torque at 9,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike retains its steel diamond frame, suspended by a 41mm Showa Separate Function Big Piston (SFF-BP) USD fork at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear.
Braking duties are handled by dual 310mm front discs and a 240mm rear disc, complemented by dual-channel ABS. The bike also features Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) for enhanced traction and stability.
Design and Features
The 2025 CBR650R sports a sharper and more aggressive design, drawing inspiration from Honda's racing DNA. Key design elements include twin LED headlights, aerodynamic fairings, and a mildly upswept tail section. The bike is available in two striking colour options: Grand Prix Red and Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic.
In terms of features, the CBR650R comes equipped with a 5-inch full-colour TFT display that offers smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth through the Honda RoadSync app. This allows riders to access functions such as call and SMS alerts, as well as turn-by-turn navigation.
Rivals in the Segment
The Honda CBR650R E-Clutch will compete against other middleweight sportbikes in the Indian market, including the Triumph Daytona 660 and the Suzuki GSX-8R. With its advanced E-Clutch technology and refined performance, the CBR650R aims to set new benchmarks in the segment.
