2026 Kawasaki Ninja 125 & Z125 Unveiled with Updates & Fresh Colours

by | 22 Sep 2025

Kawasaki has unveiled the 2026 versions of its Ninja 125 and Z125 models overseas, delivering updated liveries, sporty styling cues, and retaining the performance and features that already made them popular among A1 licence holders. The 2026 Kawasaki Ninja 125 leads with a full-faired supersport body, while the Z125 brings a naked, aggressive look. Both bikes preserve their core technical setup — making them ideal for newer riders seeking style, agility, and trusted 125cc performance.

Engine & Performance

The powertrain remains unchanged for both the Ninja 125 and Z125. Each is powered by a 125cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing approximately 15 bhp at 10,000 rpm and 11.7 Nm of torque at 7,700 rpm. The threading of power is smooth and predictable, well suited to city commuting and tight traffic, while high revs reward when pushed. The six-speed gearbox ensures usable gearing, and the engine’s responses are suitable for riders in the A1 licence category.

Chassis & Handling

Both machines use a tubular steel / trellis-type frame paired with 37mm telescopic front forks and a Uni-Trak rear mono-shock suspension setup. These deliver light, responsive handling without overwhelming beginners. Braking is handled via a single disc at each end with ABS for safety. The seat height is 785 mm, and kerb weight is under 150 kg, which makes mounting, manoeuvring, and everyday rideability easier.

Technology & Features

Despite no mechanical changes, Kawasaki has added some enhancements in appearance and options. For 2026, both models get fresh colour variants (for example, Ninja 125 in Lime Green & Metallic Graphite/Black; Z125 in Pearl Storm Gray/Ebony and Candy Lime Green/Metallic Spark Black) to refresh visual appeal. The bikes feature a fully digital instrument cluster, ABS braking, and Kawasaki’s Ergo-Fit system to allow some adjustability in seating posture. Wheels are 17-inch alloys, enhancing stability and part availability.

Pricing & Market Position

Internationally (UK/EU), the Ninja 125 is priced at £4,699, while the Z125 comes in variants starting around £4,399 and the lower spec / alternate finish around £4,299. Though popular in European markets under A1-licence rules, there’s no confirmed launch in India yet.

Conclusion

The 2026 Kawasaki Ninja 125 and Z125 update offers more visual flair, fresh colourways, and ergonomic refinements without altering the proven mechanical foundation. With 15 bhp, manageable torque, a light kerb weight, accessible seat height, and features like ABS, digital dash, and Ergo-Fit, these bikes continue to serve as excellent entry-level machines. The Ninja caters to riders craving sporty, full-fairing aesthetics; the Z125 suits those preferring naked aggression. For riders stepping into the 125cc segment or seeking a reliable commuter with style and modern features, both models represent impressive value.
