The X 440 is Harley-Davidson’s shot in the sub-500cc neo-retro motorcycle segment and is the brand’s first-ever motorcycle with a single-cylinder engine in India.

Harley-Davidson has unveiled the much-awaited X 440 neo-retro roadster. The motorcycle is a make-in-India initiative that Harley-Davidson has jointly developed with Hero MotoCorp. The new Harley-Davidson X 440 is the brand’s first single-cylinder motorcycle, and will become brand’s most affordable one after its launch scheduled on July 3.Harley-Davidson X 440 price is expected to fall around the Rs 2 lakh mark.

How Does The Harley-Davidson X 440 Look?

The official images of the new X 440 revealed by Harley-Davidson give a clear idea of how it takes inspiration from the old XR roadsters from Harley-Davidson. It is much evident by highlights like butch and upright design, a dark-themed look and a flat handlebar.

The official images unveiled show that the new Harley-Davidson X 440 has modern features like an LED headlamp with LED DRL and an LED tail lamp. The motorcycle also has 18-inch (front) and 17-inch (rear) alloy wheels with MRF tyres.

What are the expected mechanicals to be seen in the X 440?

As the name suggests, the new Harley-Davidson X 440 will come with a single-cylinder, oil-cooled, 440cc engine. While the details of the engine are still under wrap, expect it to deliver higher power and torque outputs than its rivals like Royal Enfield Classic 350, Jawa 42 and Honda CB350 RS.

The Harley-Davidson X 440 sits on a tubular cradle frame and comes with upside-down front forks and preload-adjustable twin shock absorbers at the rear. With single-disc brakes at both ends, the X 440 will be offered with a dual-channel ABS.
