Honda Brings the Adventure with New NX500 Middleweight Tourer

The Honda NX500 brings powerful touring capabilities and modern features to the growing premium adventure space in India

The Honda NX500 marks the entry of Honda into the hotly contested premium middleweight adventure touring segment which is seeing growth driven by riding enthusiasts

Powerful Twin Cylinder Engine

The Honda NX500 is powered by an all-new 471cc, 8-valve, DOHC, parallel twin cylinder engine that produces 47.5 hp at 8,500 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with assist & slipper clutch for smoother gear shifts.

Modern Equipment & Features

Some of the highlights of the NX500 include its 5-inch TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, LED headlamp and LED DRLs, traction control system, dual channel ABS, and USD front forks. The 17.5 liter fuel tank offers a riding range of over 500 kms.

Priced at Rs 5.90 Lakh

The Honda NX500 is priced at Rs 5.90 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, which positions it as a premium offering compared to rivals like Royal Enfield Himalayan and KTM 390 Adventure. HMSI will begin deliveries of the NX500 from February 2024 onwards.

Targets Experienced Riders

Commenting on the launch, HMSI President & CEO Atsushi Ogata said, “The NX500 appeals to experienced riders looking to upgrade from entry level ADVs. Its powerful twin cylinder engine, long range touring capabilities and modern features make it an exciting addition to the premium ADV space.”

CBU Route for Initial Batches

The first batches of the Honda NX500 will be imported to India via the CBU or Completely Built Unit route, which explains the premium pricing. Local assembly could start based on market demand and response.
