Expanding its cruiser portfolio, Kawasaki has revealed the launch timeline for the highly anticipated Eliminator 450 retro-styled cruiser motorcycle in India. The retro-classic bike is set to hit Indian roads around the Feb-Mar 2024 period. It is expected to carry a starting price tag of Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom).

Showcasing a fusion of classic old-school styling and contemporary mechanical components, the Eliminator 450 is powered by a 451cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine that will be mated to a 6-speed transmission. The powertrain is estimated to churn out under 50hp power and about similar torque numbers.

Engine Type4 Stroke, parallel twin
Displacement449cc
Max Power45hp @ 7,500rpm
Peak Torque43Nm @ 5,500rpm

Blends Retro Styling with Capable Hardware

Staying true to its retro theme, the Eliminator 450 will feature a signature round headlamp upfront, a tear-drop-shaped fuel tank with chrome accents, a wide flat handlebar, an oval-shaped LED taillight, and spoke wheels.

The cruiser is said to ride on 18-inch front and 16-inch rear spoke wheels wrapped in fat rubber. It employs capable hardware in the form of upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono shock unit. Anchorage comes from disc brakes at both ends supplemented by ABS. Tipping the scales at around 258kg kerb weight, the bike promises easy maneuverability.

Kawasaki India is expected to initially offer the Eliminator 450 in two color options when launched in India early next year. The company aims to target middle-aged riders seeking a laidback cruising experience without compromising on style. The visually appealing motorcycle does not have any direct rivals as of now. The Eliminator 450 combines easy riding dynamics and classic styling favored by cruiser buyers.
