Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Base Premium Launched at Rs. 1.49 Lakh

by Drivio | 6 Apr 2026

Royal Enfield has strategically expanded its Hunter 350 lineup for 2026 with the introduction of a brand-new Base Premium variant, unveiled at the HunterHood street culture event in Lucknow. Priced at ₹1,49,900 (ex-showroom Chennai), it is the most affordable variant in the Hunter 350 range to feature alloy wheels — a meaningful proposition in an increasingly competitive urban motorcycle segment. Retail and bookings commenced nationwide from April 4, 2026.

A Smarter Entry Point

The Base Premium variant is positioned above the Retro variant and features an updated halogen headlamp, alloy wheels, and single-channel ABS. These are not mere cosmetic additions. Unlike the base Factory Black variant that comes with spoke wheels and tubed tyres, the Base Premium gets alloy wheels at both ends with tubeless tyres, along with a front disc brake setup with single-channel ABS for added safety.

Features That Make a Real Difference

The upgrade list reads smartly for daily urban use. The addition of alloy wheels and tubeless tyres makes punctures easier to manage, and a slip-and-assist clutch as standard helps reduce clutch effort, making the motorcycle easier to ride in stop-and-go traffic. A digi-analog instrument cluster paired with premium rotary switchgear refines the interface, while a stitched seat elevates the tactile quality of the cabin. The variant is available in one colour scheme: Tarmac Black, featuring a full black finish with Royal Enfield tank badging and Hunter 350 side panel graphics in white.

Engine & Platform

The mechanical heart remains unchanged and proven. The Hunter 350 continues to draw power from Royal Enfield's refined J-Series 349cc single-cylinder engine, well-regarded for its smooth, linear power delivery and low maintenance demands — attributes that suit the urban commuter perfectly. The lightweight, flickable chassis geometry remains intact, keeping the motorcycle agile in dense city traffic.

New Colours for the Top Variant

Royal Enfield also introduced two new colourways for the Top variant — Mumbai Yellow and Moonshot White — priced at ₹1,69,804 (ex-showroom Chennai). Mumbai Yellow features a yellow upper section, a blue lower section, and white side stripes, while Moonshot White takes a narrative-led approach with hand-rendered celestial-themed graphics.

Verdict

The Hunter 350 Base Premium is a well-calibrated upgrade for first-time Royal Enfield buyers and budget-conscious urban riders who refuse to compromise on alloy wheels and tubeless tyre practicality. Alloy wheels, single-channel ABS, a slip-and-assist clutch, and the Hunter's inherent style — all for under ₹1.5 lakh — is a package that is difficult to argue against in this segment. Royal Enfield has not just filled a gap in its lineup; it has made its most accessible Hunter genuinely desirable.
