by | 11 Mar 2026
Electric performance motorcycle maker Ultraviolette has introduced a new Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership model for the Ultraviolette X-47. With the launch of the “Battery Flex” subscription plan, the starting price of the electric crossover motorcycle drops dramatically to ₹1.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model separates the battery cost from the vehicle price, allowing riders to pay a monthly subscription instead of buying the battery upfront. This move significantly lowers the entry price and makes the Ultraviolette X-47 more accessible to a wider range of Indian riders.
Engine & Performance
The Ultraviolette X-47 is designed as a high-performance electric crossover motorcycle. It is powered by a 10.3 kWh battery pack paired with an advanced electric motor that produces around 39.6 bhp and 100 Nm of torque. The motorcycle claims a top speed of 145 km/h and can accelerate rapidly, with 0-60 km/h achievable in about 2.7 seconds. The electric bike also offers an IDC-certified range of up to 323 km on a single charge, placing it among the longest-range electric motorcycles in its segment.
With the new Battery Flex plan, buyers pay only for the motorcycle chassis at the time of purchase while subscribing to the battery separately. The monthly battery subscription starts from ₹2,499, which the company claims can be comparable to or even lower than average monthly petrol expenses.
Chassis & Handling
The X-47 is built as a versatile electric crossover that combines city commuting capability with touring potential. Its chassis is engineered for stability and high-speed control, making it suitable for both urban roads and longer highway rides. The balanced weight distribution and advanced suspension setup aim to deliver confident handling while maintaining comfort during daily rides.
The electric powertrain also ensures smooth acceleration and instant torque delivery, providing a responsive riding experience compared to conventional petrol motorcycles. This performance-focused approach positions the Ultraviolette X-47 as a premium EV option in the Indian two-wheeler market.
Technology & Features
Technology is one of the strongest highlights of the Ultraviolette X-47 electric bike. The motorcycle features a fully digital TFT display, connected features through a mobile app, and over-the-air (OTA) updates. It also includes advanced safety and riding aids such as traction control, hill-hold assist, and radar-based blind-spot detection.
Charging options include standard charging as well as fast-charging support, making it more practical for long rides. Additionally, the battery under the subscription model comes with a five-year warranty, and ownership of the battery is transferred to the customer after the subscription period ends.
Conclusion
The introduction of the Battery Flex BaaS plan has transformed the value proposition of the Ultraviolette X-47. By reducing the initial purchase price to ₹1.49 lakh, Ultraviolette has made its high-performance electric crossover significantly more accessible to Indian buyers.
With strong performance figures, advanced technology, and an impressive electric range, the X-47 is aimed at riders who want a futuristic, performance-oriented electric motorcycle without paying a massive upfront cost. For urban commuters and tech-savvy riders looking to switch to electric mobility, the Ultraviolette X-47 now stands out as one of the most compelling options in the premium electric bike segment.
