Hero has reignited the memories of lakhs of motorcycling enthusiasts by bringing back the Karizma as a new fully-faired sports bike. Named Karizma XMR, the new motorcycle now serves as the flagship motorcycle for Hero MotoCorp, offering a sporty-looking bodywork, performance and riding dynamics, making it one of the most complete entry-level sports bikes. Since it is a flagship sports offering, buying the Hero Karizma XMR will require financial planning, and these calculations of Downpayment and EMI might be handy if you are planning to buy one:

Hero Karizma XMR: EMI Plan For Three Years

Currently, the Hero Karizma XMR is being offered at an introductory price of Rs 1,72,900, which will go up to Rs 1,82,900 after a few days. For now, factoring in the introductory ex-showroom price, along with RTO charges and insurance, the on-road price of the Karizma XMR can go up to Rs 1,92,000 in Delhi. If we take the rate of interest as 10 percent for a loan over 3 years, the downpayment can be around Rs 38,000 and EMI can go up to Rs 4,958.

However, this calculation of downpayment and EMIs are just estimated figures, as they can vary depending on the banking record of the customer. Other factors like RTO charges are also variable from city to city. Registering a new vehicle in Delhi is a lot cheaper compared to other cities, and in the places where RTO charges are higher, the EMI and Downpayment will also go up.

About the New Hero Karizma XMR

Hero has brought back the iconic Karizma nameplate in the form of an all-new fully-faired entry-level sports bike, Karizma XMR. Save for the name, this new motorcycle shares nothing with the previous-generation versions of the Karizma. Available in a single fully-loaded variant, the new Hero Karizma XMR is being offered in three color options – Iconic Yellow, Turbo Red and Matte Phantom Black.

Compared to the previous-generation model, the new Hero Karizma XMR gets edgier bodywork from front to rear, adorned with elements like all-LED projector headlamps, daytime running LEDs, LED turn indicators and tail lamps. The motorcycle also gets a split seat setup and split pillion grab rails, along with a new-generation full-LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and a USB charger.

Apart from the looks, the new Hero Karizma XMR packs immense newness under its skin, with it being powered by a new single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 210cc engine. Paired with a 6-speed transmission with assist and slipper clutch, this engine produces 25.5 PS of maximum power and 20.4 Nm of maximum torque.

Based on a steel trellis frame, the Karizma XMR gets 37mm telescopic forks at the front and a gas-charged mono-shock with 6-step preload adjustability at the rear. Equipped with a dual-channel ABS – a first for a Hero MotoCorp product, the Karizma XMR gets 300mm front and 230mm rear petal disc brakes.
