Homegrown EV firm Ather Energy has taken the wraps off its fastest and most advanced electric scooter yet, the Apex 450. Priced competitively at Rs 1.89 lakh, the new Apex model aims to set new performance and technology benchmarks in India's quickly evolving EV space.

The Apex 450 retains the striking silhouette of the Ather 450X but adds unique styling touches like the exposed painted chassis and vibrant color schemes. However, the big changes are to the electric powertrain and onboard technology.

One highlight is the Magic Twist system, which builds on the regenerative braking function. It provides up to 40% stronger braking force even with a fully charged battery. Ather has also equipped the scooter with the latest Warp+ performance mode.

This enables the Apex 450 to sprint from 0-40kmph in just 2.9 seconds. The locally designed 450W motor provides 210Nm of peak torque, giving thrilling acceleration. Top speed is a claimed 100kmph, making this the fastest electric scooter yet from an Indian manufacturer.

The Apex 450 is equipped with Ather's latest touchscreen dash, connectivity features and onboard 4G. Owners can expect around 157km range from the 3.7kWh lithium-ion battery pack. DC fast charging is also supported.
