The ever-popular Honda Activa is all set to get a revised version, which will be available in three trims – Base, Standard, and Smart.

  • The new Honda Activa will be available in two variants – Standard, Deluxe, and Smart
  • The Smart variant is expected to have a technological feature above the other two variants.
  • Mechanically, the new Honda Activa is expected to remain the same.

Honda has already confirmed that it will be launching a new scooter on January 23rd. Going by the official teaser unveiled by Honda on its social media handles, the new scooter is expected to be a revised form of the new Activa. Touted to be named Activa 7G, the new version of India’s highest-selling scooter will be available in three variants – Standard, Deluxe, and Smart, as revealed in a leaked official document of ICAT.

What are the expected features to be available in the new Smart variant?

Currently, the Honda Activa 6G is being offered in two variants – Standard and Deluxe, both of which have been retained in the new version of the scooter set to be launched on January 23rd. However, Activa will get a new range-topping Smart variant, which is expected to have a new technology-oriented feature.

There are speculations that Honda might introduce the now-popular Bluetooth connectivity system with a new digital instrument console on this new Smart variant. Currently, rival scooters like Hero Maestro Edge and Suzuki Access are offering this feature. There are also reports that Honda might introduce a new security system inspired by the system offered on its premium motorcycles like CLR650R and Africa Twin.

Are there any mechanical changes in the new Honda Activa scooter?

In the leaked ICAT document, it is revealed that the new Honda Activa has a maximum power output of 7.84 PS – almost 0.05 PS more than the power output claimed by the currently available Activa 6G. In addition, while the Standard Activa 6G has a claimed gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 280 kg, the new Smart variant of the scooter will have a GVW of 279 kg.

The document also reveals that the new Activa will measure 1833mm long, 697mm wide, and 1156mm tall, while having a wheelbase of 1260 kg. The new version of the Honda Activa will have mild tweaks in its overall design, which is expected to retain the silhouette of the current model.
